Kent is also known as "The Garden of England" because of its agricultural landscape. It has two chalk ranges running through it from North west to South East: the Kent Downs (which end at Dover with the famous White Cliffs of Dover) and the Weald, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The highest point is Betsom's Hill at 251m/823ft. The lowest area is Romney Marsh and New Romney. The largest town is Rochester and the larger cities and towns include. The M2 links Rochester and Chatham to Faversham. The major north/south route is the A229 from Rochester through Maidstone to Ashford. Other major routes run from Margate and Ramsgate to Canterbury (A28) and the A2 from Dover to Canterbury and then to Faversham. The A227 links Tunbridge Wells to Gravesend and Northfleet. From Dartford and the Dartford tunnel, the M25 runs towards Sevenoaks and links the M20 and the M26 from Sevenoaks to Maidstone.
